Join the National Vaccine Month of Action
On June 4, we launched a month-long mobilization effort in support of the Department of Health & Human Services’ We Can Do This campaign to ensure as many people as possible receive at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot by July 4th. Despite vaccination progress, we’re still seeing disproportionately lower vaccination rates in communities of color. Getting as many folks as possible vaccinated and achieving equity in the distribution and uptake of vaccines will require a national effort led by partners like you.
Click here to join the Month of Action as a founding partner, and click here to find an event near you.
You can see a full list of our founding partners at the bottom of this page. Please note that if you are a PAC, candidate, or political party, you cannot register an event.
We will kick off this month-long vaccination campaign with a Weekend of Action on Saturday and Sunday, June 5-6th. We will leverage our collective networks to provide needed vaccine information, increase access, continue shifting the narrative, and ensure an equitable end to this pandemic. We will host thousands of events in communities across the country, having the critical person-to-person conversations needed to get more shots in arms. Let’s use this Weekend and Month of Action as a major moment for vaccination mobilization. To get started we have three asks for you, outlined below. If you are a PAC, candidate, or a party, please do not fill out the form or register any events you are planning on Mobilize.
1) Commit to join the full Month of Action and to host events during the launch weekend and throughout the month.
We ask that you prioritize hosting events that facilitate person-to-person outreach to have conversations about the COVID-19 vaccines, assist folks in making appointments, or help people identify ways to get to and from a vaccination site. Our goal is to maximize the number of shots administered during the weekend and month. We aim to make a splash during the first weekend and create sustained momentum throughout the month. We will be providing a robust host toolkit to support your organization’s events.
Your organization should set a goal number of events that is both ambitious and achievable. In determining your level of commitment, please consider the following:
- We anticipate that most of our partners will be able to commit to hosting between 1 and 25 (or more!) events during the kickoff Weekend of Action. If you are a large organization with chapters or affiliates across the country, let’s go big and aim to mobilize each chapter to host at least one event for the kickoff Weekend of Action and at least 10 (or more!) events throughout the month-long campaign.
- Your total commitment numbers should include previously planned events that align with the goals of the Weekend and Month of Action.
- If you have multiple shifts in one day, these should count as separate events (ex. Three canvassing shifts throughout the first Saturday = 3 events).
Our priority event categories include:
- Community canvasses: In-person events where volunteers go door-to-door to talk to people about the COVID-19 vaccines. Made to Save will provide access to scripts and safety guidelines to facilitate low barrier to entry community canvasses.
- Phone banks: In-person or virtual events where volunteers call people to talk to them about the COVID-19 vaccines. Made to Save will provide scripts to support these efforts.
- Text banks: Virtual events where volunteers text people to talk to them about the COVID-19 vaccines. Made to Save will provide scripts to support text bank efforts.
- Other: Events that do not qualify as any of the above! We encourage your organization to be creative in community outreach and do what you do best. This might include tabling in high traffic areas, canvassing outside vaccination sites, convening volunteers to do outreach to their friends and family, participating in a community event to share information about the vaccines, and more.
As you plan your events, here are some of the communities where we see a particular opportunity for impact. (Events anywhere and everywhere are welcomed!)

2) Add your events to our national events MobilizeAmerica page
MobilizeAmerica is a unified dashboard and events management tool that will help power one million vaccine conversations over the course of the month. We will be driving all sign-up traffic to the dashboard. Adding your events helps new volunteers find & register for your event, in addition to enabling us to track our collective impact. Please include all events, including non-traditional events that don’t require RSVPs. Your organization will own the event on Mobilize, meaning you will have access to all sign-up information and be able to see and edit details. If you have events on a different Mobilize page, please share your link(s) with haley.florsheim@civicnation.org.
3) Sign up for our event host training calls.
Next week, the Made to Save team will be hosting training sessions to talk through the information you need to host COVID-safe canvasses, phone and text banks, and more. We will go over how to lead these events and all of the tools you will need to make it a success!
Thank you for your dedication to this important work! Please reach out to haley.florsheim@civicnation.org with any questions.
4) Tell us about your work through this reporting form
Reporting out on the impact of your work enables us to amplify your efforts and share the story of our collective impact. Please report back on a weekly basis on your organization’s events.
